Overview

 

CNE is a small non-profit organization that works with both public and private loans. Primary funding is received through the City of Chattanooga in order to service citizens within the Chattanooga City limits.

There are four primary business lines used to give affordable assistance to low and moderate income families.

Lending: Single family home purchase second mortgages to help families with up to 115% of Area Median Income to acquire homes of their own. Rehabilitation lending, a loan created to help with the correction of accumulated building code violations.

Education: Programs that focus on financial and home ownership issues, post purchasing counseling, wealth creation, and credit readiness.

Counseling: When dealing with housing and housing discrimination issues counseling is available to both owners and renters. Through hotlines and informational handbooks like 'RentWise' which help people through housing issues and inquires CNE is there.

Services: A Housing Information Hot Line and education programs such as: FasTrack to Homeownership, Pre and Post Purchasing counseling, Home Repair and Renovation counseling, and Foreclosure mitigation counseling are some of the services that CNE offers.
