Employee Spotlight: Bonita Broadnax

The work we do every day is done by dedicated employees with big hearts. We invite you to meet the people behind CNE.

This month, our employee spotlight is on our newest employee Bonita Broadnax, a Chattanooga native. She grew up here in Chattanooga for 18 years, moved to Wisconsin and moved back to our lovely city six years ago.

Why Chattanooga? Because:

It’s known as God’s Country…and I love that!
— Bonita

Bonita is an AmeriCorps VISTA, which stands for Volunteer in Service to America, and she has been at CNE since August 22nd, 2016. Her role here is to help eliminate poverty through CNE's various programs and services. If you aren’t familiar with the AmeriCorps VISTAs program, check out their website.

So who is Bonita? Well, she is a self-proclaimed lover of genuineness, laughter, and aptly spoken word. She loves television, particularly Jane the Virgin. Bonita’s most precious non-living items in her home include her books (The Bible), her new living room floor, and her porch decorations, which currently include a bale of hay and sequined pumpkins.

When Bonita isn't working at CNE or enjoying her home, she is catering with her husband or selling t-shirts through H.O.P Apparel, which stands for Harvest of Prosperity. You can check it out on Facebook

“We have a small catering company and t-shirt company. All the designs are original," says Bonita

When asked what home means to her, Bonita replied “God, peace, refuge. Because you often need a place that the world can’t get to.”

Thanks Bonita, for all you do at CNE. If you want to get in touch with Bonita, email her at bbroadnax@cneinc.org.
