CNE is offering a new loan program designed to assist more Chattanooga homeowners in repairing their homes. The program is a partnership between CNE and Citizens Tri County Bank. The loan program provides a new source of funding for homeowners who want to make home improvements. CNE has renovated over 3,200 homes in the Chattanooga area in the past 30 years.
“Getting a home improvement loan directly from a bank can be difficult,” says Martina Guilfoil, president & CEO of CNE. “This loan is administered by CNE and funded by the bank. It’s a win-win for everybody involved.”
CNE started in 1986 with the mission to eliminate substandard housing throughout Chattanooga using Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding administered through the City of Chattanooga. In the beginning, CNE was receiving close to $1 million per year, enabling the organization to do numerous repairs.
“As federal funding continues to decrease, CNE has worked to secure funding from other sources,” says Guilfoil. “We are excited to expand the opportunity for more Chattanooga homeowners make necessary improvements to their homes.”
The property must be owner-occupied and a one-to-four family residential dwelling. Other restrictions apply.
