CNE’s Homeownership Coaching teaches clients to understand and overcome the many obstacles in the way of both financial security and homeownership. The service is free and offers help with saving for a down payment, reducing debt, overcoming credit issues and more.

Section 8 to Homeownership
Are you on Section 8 and want to own your home? Here are the minimum requirements in order for you to own the home of your dreams:

Low Income Public Housing resident in good standing with CHA

Don’t currently own a home, are a first-time homebuyer, or have not owned a home in the last 3 years

Willing to complete pre- and post-purchase counseling and homebuyer education class

Willing to save enough money to put toward a 1% down payment on a home

Currently enrolled in CHA’s Family Self Sufficiency Program (FSS), or are willing to enroll

Currently employed full time, and have maintained stable and consistent employment for at least 1 year or you are an elderly or disabled person.

Maintain a household income of at least $14,500 per year earned from employment or you are an elderly or disabled person.
